The client wanted to build a scalable connection and matching app focusing on clean UI, reliability, and efficient real-time features. The vision included mobile apps for iOS/Android and a Progressive Web App (PWA) — all powered by a centralized Firebase backend
The initial release had to support profile swiping, user matching, and optional messaging. The app also needed distance-based filters, push notifications, and monetization features like subscriptions and ads. With scalability in mind, the system architecture had to handle growth with clean user experience across platforms.
We began by designing the entire app experience in Figma, including both light and dark themes. The app was developed using Flutter for native iOS and Android compatibility, along with a web-based Progressive Web App version. Firebase was integrated for real-time user data handling, authentication, and backend services. Interactive widgets were custom-built for swipe mechanics and filter settings.
